Meet Our Staff

Our practice is dedicated to excellence in patient care and providing you with a positive surgical treatment experience. Our staff consists of professionals who are ready to assist you with all of your needs and questions. We believe that our multi-disciplinary team, working side by side, are the main pillars, leading to the success of your surgical journey.

Anaesthetist: Dr Vincent DaSilva, BSc(Med), MBBS, FANZCA

Sydney Anaesthetist Dr. Vincent DaSilvaDr DaSilva graduated from the University of NSW and spent the early part of his career in Intensive Care medicine before commencing his anaesthesia training at St George Hospital, Sydney. He also trained at The Royal Hospital for Women, The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and St Vincent’s Hospital before completing his Fellowship year with NRMA CareFlight. Following this he worked as a retrieval specialist with NRMA CareFlight and the NSW Ambulance Helicopter Rescue Service.

His current clinical profile includes anaesthesia for bariatric and upper gastrointestinal surgery, liver and colorectal surgery, obstetrics and plastic surgery. He has a special interest in anaesthesia for trauma surgery and anaesthesia in the elderly and critically ill.

Bariatric Physician: Dr. Daiva Kuzinkoviene MBBS, MRCGP, FRACGP

Bariatric Physician Dr. Daiva KuzinkovieneDr Daiva is a Bariatric physician, specialising in weight loss management. She consults patients during the follow up appointments before and after bariatric surgery.

After completion of her GP training in the UK, in 2008 she was conferred a MRCGP degree – Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners – London, UK.

Dr Daiva then arrived to work in Australia and, after completion of the accreditation process – she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners FRACGP.

She is a member of the Obesity Network at the National Faculty of Special Interest at Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Daiva is very caring and passionate about her job. She very well understands the complexity of obesity as a disease, its related illnesses, patient’s physical and psychological challenges, therefore provides a fully comprehensive approach to weight loss management for our patients before and after bariatric surgery.

Dietitian: Louise Bula

Dietitian: Louise BulaLouise Bula (BSc hons, PgDip) is a Registered Dietitian in the UK and Accredited Practising Dietitian in Australia with over 5 years of clinical experience.

She has worked across various clinical settings including the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, private practice and as a Senior Dietitian for Europe’s leading behaviour change telehealth company.

During this time, Louise has also been quoted in articles in various media outlets including Women’s Health, the Daily Mail and has consulted for various food companies.

Her key areas include Weight Management, Diabetes, PCOS and IBS.

Louise’s personal experience with weight loss enables her to build great rapport with her patients allowing her to provide the best level of care.

Dietitian: Kerryn Chisholm

Practice Dietitian Kerryn ChisholmKerryn Chisholm (MSc, Grad Dip Diet) is an accredited practising dietitian with extensive experience in counselling individuals and families in weight management. She completed her Masters of Science and Biochemistry at Melbourne University and Diploma of Nutrition and Dietetics at Deakin University. Since then she has worked with children and adults at several hospitals and private practices including the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for the past 21 years. She is a leading specialist in weight management and obesity with 20 peer reviewed published papers and has presented both nationally and internationally at Obesity conferences. She is a key spokesperson and professional mentor to other weight management specialists and dietitians. She has an additional special interest in diabetes and metabolic disease. She has a caring, practical, and motivational approach and works collaboratively with clients to achieve their weight loss goals.

DIETITIAN: SALLY LANE Masters Nutr & Diet, BSc; Food & Nutr, GC Diabet, APD

DIETITIAN: SALLY LANESally Lane is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, completing a Bachelor of Science (Food Science and Nutrition) and a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Sydney. She has experience working in both clinical and community settings, and has an interest in sustainable weight management and diabetes management, completing a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education through Curtin University. Sally understands how all patients are individuals with their own specific requirements and therefore uses her skills to educate and steer them towards better health with a tailored, holistic approach.

Practice Manager: Meredith Hawkins, Dip. SpTh, Dip. RM, Dip. Nutr, Cert IV Bus. Admin

Practice Manager Meredith HawkinsMeredith has predominantly worked within the Wellness Industry for the past 17 years and has a Cert IV of Executive Secretarial Studies, Diploma of Sports Injury Therapies, Diploma of Remedial Massage and Diploma of Nutrition.

As your first point of contact, Meredith will help you with any questions you may have and support you along your weight loss journey, with her caring nature.

Carmel Myles (Clinical Psychologist) B.Ed. B.Sc. (Psych. Hons) P.G.C. (A.Psych.) M.A.P.S

Clinical Psychologist Carmel MylesCarmel has worked as a Psychologist in the public and private sectors for the past 18 years; including Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, The Sydney Clinic (Private Psychiatric Hospital) and in private practice at Bondi Junction. Carmel has extensive experience in the psychological assessment, treatment and counselling of individuals and group therapy. Carmel has worked in a broad range of areas including; anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural problems, eating disorders and obesity, body image, self-esteem and addiction.

Carmel has a special interest in the treatment of obesity and has worked as a Psychologist at Metabolism and Obesity Services, Department of Endocrinology, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Carmel also conducted her own research in the treatment of obesity at the University of Sydney and at the Metabolism and Obesity Services and it was presented at conferences for the Australasian Society for the Study of Obesity and at the International Congress of Applied Psychology.

Carmel takes a wholistic view to help you live a full and meaningful life, helping you to establish helpful eating patterns, achieve better life balance, learn more effective coping strategies, and develop a healthier relationship with yourself, your body and with food.

Practice Administrator: Brianna Jospe

Practice Administrator: Brianna JospeBrianna is currently completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy through the Australian Catholic University. Brianna is passionate about a holistic approach to healthcare and enjoys motivating patients to achieve their best possible results following their surgery. Through her role as practice administrator, she will be your first point of contact for any support you may need during your weight loss journey. With an energetic and caring nature, Brianna is happy to assist with any questions or needs you may have during your weight loss journey.

Practice Administrator: Jordan Bremer

Practice Administrator: Jordan BremerJordan has completed a Bachelor of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Wollongong. This has given her the organisational and communication skills to provide patients with quality care. She is passionate about healthcare and helping patients achieve their goals. Jordan’s nature is lovely and kind, allowing her to be a caring and supportive member of our team. She is enthusiastic about answering patient questions and providing assistance throughout all stages of the weight loss journey.

Practice Administrator: Tara Kapila

Practice Administrator: Tara KapilaTara is currently studying at the University of Technology Sydney, completing a Bachelor of Forensic Science, with a major in Crime Scene Investigation. Through being employed at various different jobs, she has also learned and gained several key skill-sets that contribute to her overall ability to be a resourceful, kind and hard-working team member. Furthermore, she ensures that all patients are treated with the utmost respect, through answering any questions that may arise and communicating with them energetically and empathetically. Tara’s welcoming nature and enthusiasm for assistance also allows for patients to feel supported throughout the course of their weight loss journey.
